The recent reports are suggesting La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are currently locked in talks with Chelsea regarding the transfer of Andre Schurrle. The recently crowned La Liga champions were pursuing the player for his services for few weeks now.
Atletico Madrid surprised everyone after bagging the league title against the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona and reaching the Champions League final. Diego Simone is looking forward to next season and will try to emulate last season’s performance, which makes their interest on the Chelsea’s versatile attacker pertinent.
Simone’s side have recently sold Diego Costa and Filipe Louis to Chelsea and have collected considerable fund to reinvest. Despite having already brought Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich, the capital based club are still looking to bolster their team.
The 23 years old Germany international only joined the Blues last summer for a reported fee of £18 million from German side Bayer Leverkusen. Despite some flashes of impressive performance, he is still short in convincing Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho for automatic starting berth.
However, Jose Mourinho is believed to be unwilling to let the German player go as he sees the player’s versatility as a significant asset to the team.
