Arsenal transfer news: Gunners prepare ambitious swap for Cavani, Reus and Khedira

Arsenal, reputed for frugality only a year ago, have now attempted an ambitious swap for some of the most coveted players in Europe, PSG’s Edinson Cavani, Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus and Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.
Arsenal has been pursuing a big name striker for few transfer windows after the club’s only renowned center forward Oliver Giroud failed to convince Wenger to rely on him alone. Consequently, Wenger has been exploring the market for a striker capable of leading the Gunners line against any opposition, and has possibly earmarked Uruguay international Edinson Cavani.
Wenger has been an admirer of the former Napoli striker and is keen to bring him to Emirates Stadium after being handed a significant war-chest.
“I like him as a player. Will he cost a lot of money? That’s for sure. Nobody would deny that. Our banker lives just next to me at the moment and he is ready if we find the right player”, Wenger said about Cavani prior to his move to PSG.
Arsenal are also closely monitoring the situation of Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira after he was reported to be willing to leave the Spanish giant this summer. Arsenal have been chasing the player for some months and are rivaled by Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea for the player’s signature.
Wenger is also keeping tabs on Germany international and Dortmund star attacker Marco Reus who has induced uproar in transfer window after implying to leave the club sooner or later. Reus has a release clause in the region of €35 million which would not be significant for Arsenal given the quality of the player. However, the contest to sign the player does not seem any easy, after all a legion of top European clubs including Bayern, Manchester United and Barcelona are linked with the player.
