Spanish giants Real Madrid have declared that they have reached an agreement with star midfielder Luka Modric over a contract extension which keep the player until the summer of 2018.
The former Tottenham player was signed by the club under the tenure of Jose Mourinho and now signed a new and improved contract that will make him continue at the club for one additional season.
“Real Madrid C.F. announce the extension of Luka Modric’s contract, putting him to the club for the next four seasons,” a club statement reads.
The diminutive midfielder joined the Bernabeu side from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and has become one of the best central midfielders in the world. His excellent performances for the team last season propelled Real Madrid to win La Decima last season. Modric was also star performer in last year’s Copa Del Rey as Real Madrid claimed the trophy beating Barcelona in final.
Modric has made a century of official appearances in all competitions for Madrid side. He is the player of the team winning the Supercopa de Espana, Copa del 2013 Rey 2014, Champions League 2014 and European Super Cup.
