After tucking 3 away goals against Stjarnan at the Stjörnuvöllur, the Nerazzurri can finally put their players to ease.
Manager Walter Mazzarri may decide to make changes to his starting line-up when Inter host Stjarnan in the Europa League on Thursday as they lead with a 3-0 aggregate.
Fullback Danilo D’Ambrosio, Jose Dodo and striker Mauro Icardi all suceeded to notch in against the Iceland side to leave Inter well in the play-off tie.
Inter now face Torino in Serie A just 3 days after this 2nd leg, so Mazzarri is opting to put his players off to rest to fend off for the league tie.
Dani Osvaldo , current on-loan from Southampton is reported to start for the front line of the Nerazzurri who came as a second-half substitute during the last leg.
Inter boss also has favoured for Marco Andreolli in defence and will hope to be given a chance to impress in the San Siro clash. Jose Dodo , who joined Inter from Roma , who provided a goal in his debut is also reported to start.
Stjarnan are the lowest-ranked team in the competition but they have surprised many with their form in Europe, as Bangor City, Motherwell and Lech Poznan have all been defeated by the Icelandic side. However, considering their 3 goals deficit, they may try extremely hard to even the odd with the Italian giant.
“We know that it will be extremely difficult to win in Milan with a three-goal margin”, Head coach Runar Pall Sigmundsson implied in the aftermath of the first leg, “We’ll be heading towards a big stadium to go and have fun as it will be an adventure”
While progression to the pool stages may be out of reach, Stjarnan will at least hope to get the opportunity to show off one of their famous goal celebrations, which have gone viral.
Forward Olafur Karl Finsen, who has five goals to his name in the competition, is the man most likely to offer cause for the visitors to demonstrate one of their well-rehearsed routines.
