The Gunners won FA cup trophy last season, but expectations are high going into the new season following the arrival of World Cup star Alexis Sanchez.
Sol Campbell stresses Arsenal can win the 2014-15 Premier League trophy, providing they suffer no key injuries.
“We mainly want to be tough from start to finish this campaign,” said Campbell.”Last year we just slipped in the middle when we got a few injuries at the critical time and things went against us. When we got some lads returning at the back-end of the year we produced again.
“Fingers crossed injuries will not hit the power and depth of our squad too much and then we can make a charge and hopefully win another prize.
“If you look at the fact we lost Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Ox-Chamberlain at the wrong point of the season. In the middle of the season we lost four of our important players.”
“We need to get those players back fully in shape – as we have with some of them and get everyone firing on all cylinders through the whole season and then add new players into the mix, which we are doing.”
Arsenal led the Premier League table for much of the last season, but fell away in February and March after losing key players through injury and had to satisfy with fourth place and an FA Cup title.
Meanwhile Arsenal winger Oxlade Chamberlain has been impressed by the club’s summer signing Callum Chambers.
The Southampton academy graduate has filled in at centre-back in the absence of World Cup winner Per Mertesacker and delivered a series of impressive displays against the Premier League Champions.
“Chambo” has been enormously awed by his fellow Southampton graduate and says his best is yet to come.
“We looked him play for Arsenal for the first time at the Emirates Cup and I thought he was excellent for a 19-year-old playing at the heart of defence, against really high-quality players.
