David Moyes says he can see Wayne Rooney turning into a future captain of Manchester United.
The 28-year-old, WHO has spent the last 9 years at old Trafford, was spectacular once more within the Red Devils’ 3-1 win at Fulham on Saturday in the Premier League.
The England forward has enjoyed a renaissance this season which has clearly affected United boss Moyes.
He said: ‘Wayne has continuously had a capability to be a captain. He’s got a love of soccer that is that the biggest factor – he loves the sport, he loves the ball and kicking it around, it’s natural to him. If you’ve got that, then leadership can follow.
‘And in his own approach he leads by example in what he tries to try to to. within the future, yeah, i feel he might be a skipper here.’
Asked if Rooney would take the armband imminently, Moyes replied: ‘No, I’ve not got any reason to vary. I’m happy, behind the scenes they work alright.
‘Vida, Evra, rio [Ferdinand] – all the extremely experienced boys area unit nice behind the scenes and captains in their claim. Vida wears the armband however i exploit all for their steering and knowledge.’
