Southampton will take on Millwall in their first round encounter of Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

Ronald Koeman’s men were held to goalless draw by West Bromwich on Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium in their second game of the Premier League and they have chance to secured third round progression when face Millwall Tuesday night.
Millwall failed to score against Rotherham United on Saturday, which saw them defeat for the first time in their opening five matches with three wins and a draw from previous four matches.
The two side’s meeting is the third ever between them in League Cup competition, out of which Saints have succeeded to win in all three matches and secured 4-0 win at The Den in latter clash.
Since then, Southampton and Millwall have met eachother in both League 1 and the Championship, as well as in FA Cup, with the Championship side securing victory in a replay at Saints’ home in 2012 to knock them out at the fourth round.
Millwall have won just one match in the last 12 encounters between the two sides since 1989/90 season.
Dean Whiteston, who officiated the first round encounter between MK Dons and AFC Wimbledone is appointed to referee this match.
